Up Close: Physiolab Revive MTS Serum

Updated: Feb 12, 2021

The success of every BB Glow treatment largely depends on your aesthetician selecting the correct Mesotherapy (MTS) Serum that suits your unique skin needs and concerns. The MTS Serum specifically targets concerns related to anti-ageing, pigmentation, scarring, redness and sensitivity, to list just a few.

Prior to your first appointment, it is important to ask yourself a few questions, so that you can properly explain to your asesthetician the goals you are wanting to achieve, so they can properly choose the best MTS serum to meet your needs.

Questions to consider include:

  • What do you want to change about your skin?

  • What are your skin goals?

  • How do you want your skin to look & feel?

It may be that you've selected a few different skin goals, which may require the use of different serums. In some cases, we can use 2 serums in 1 treatment. However, for sensitive and acneic skin a good aesthetician will recommend to focus on one concern first, before addressing other concerns. It is important to listen and take on board your aestheticians recommendations, as in some cases the MTS serum that will target one concern, may aggravate another. For example, if your skin is hypersensitive or inflamed, it is critical to address those concerns first and calm the skin down, before introducing more potent and active ingredients that would otherwise irritate a skin that is not ready or prepped for these active ingredients.

That's where the Physiolab REVIVE Elixir comes in! This amazing serum features a powerhouse of hydrating, soothing and calming ingredients that make it absolutely perfect for any and every skin, but especially dry, damaged and sensitive skin types. The ingredients (below) help to reduce the appearance of redness, uneven skin tone, fine lines and open pores.

Sodium Hyaluronate: Sodium hyaluronate is smaller than hyaluronic acid and is able to move more freely into the deeper layers of the skin. This is an advantage since sodium hyaluronate is a powerful humectant that attracts and holds on to water, making it the ultimate skin moisturizer.

Marine Mucin: extracted from the Moon Jellyfish (Aurelia Aurita), clinical studies show that this powerful extract is 3 times more hydrating than hyaluronic acid and is also a much more effective humectant... combined with Sodium Hyaluronate, these two create an absolute hydration power serum!

Mushroom Complex: Chaga, Shiitake, Phellinus & Lingzhi Mushroom extracts are combined in a powerful antioxidant complex to reduce the appearance of fine lines and oxidative stress.

Centella Asiatica extract: thanks to its active compounds (including madecassoside, which serves as an antioxidant) Centella asiatica has been shown to have potent antioxidant properties and to be a rich source of amino acids. Additional research shows that it is a hydrating ingredient to soothe upset or compromised skin, which makes it a particularly good ingredient for nano-needling treatments like BB Glow. There's also evidence that Centella asiatica can help revitalise skin's protective barrier, plus it may mitigate some of the visible effects of sun damage.

Betula Alba bud extract: from the birch tree, this ingredient has a long and established history of use in skincare products. Rich in vitamins B1, B2, A, C and E, it is well known and highly regarded for it’s anti-inflammatory and skin soothing abilities that are often used to treat eczema & psoriasis.
